Joy to the World !

It is the 'most wonderful time of the year' as it provides time to spend with family, puts us in the giving spirit and celebrates the birth of Christ.  Not to mention it is prime egg nog season.  Below are a collection of Christmas time photos....

Christmas in Minnesota

And where, exactly, is MY stocking ??  The forgotten middle child....
Not sure I want this shepherd watching my flocks at night.
No problems with Christmas spirit here.....
I have seen some bad Christmas trees but.....

One stocking was never enough for Catherine !
Albino tree ? Not on my watch !

Don't look very excited to be with old Saint Nick.

That is more like it !
This is what I have to work with when trying to get a Christmas card photo !

Gather Around The Table

Thanksgiving is a time when friends and family gather around the table to enjoy a feast.   This ritual of meeting around a table for a meal is not confined to this one holiday.  Here are a collection of some food being share around a table.

Teenage boys eating out out of house and home

Looks like Grandpa Kuhn has his work cut out for him..

Who needs a table when you have a whirlpool tub ?

Very intrigued by all the syrup choices

Too many things to mock in this picture... but have to give a big shout out to the lime green ice crusher

Two favorite parts of this shot - Oscar's Bow Tie and Uncle Dick's posture

Two words: Cocktail Weiners !

Two brothers eatings Gregory's Pizza or Gregory eating Brothers pizza with his brother ?

Let them eat cake

In the 15th century, bakeries in Germany conceived the idea of marketing one-layer cakes for customers' birthdays as well as for only their weddings, and thus the modern birthday cake was born.  The traditional Olen birthday contains a cake from Ohlins Bakery in Belmont.  Below are a collection of pictures of celebrating birthdays with a bit of cake.

Classic pose set against some classic curtains

Little known fact - Kathy is a huge Flinstones fan
Wait a minute - that is not an Ohlin's cake !

No pants required to blow out the candle.

Nothing like a couple of pickles with your princess cake.

Was this a "Wear your favorite San Francisco shirt" party ?

Who ordered the personal size batman cake ?
This is the start of the goody bag hyper inflation period.

I would give $100 to still have that Planet of the Ape cup
Everybody should spend their fiftieth with Brad

Combining the three kids birthdays into one party looked good on paper...

Never too old for the Pooh Bear napkins.  Jeff foreshadowing his decision to live in Texas.
Karen doing the birthday party - Maine style !

Dede airing her grievances.   Wait....haven't I seen that Winnie the Pooh gear somewhere....
We called this the Moses cake

Not sure whose birthday this is but if they were really loved they would have gotten an Ohlin's cake.

Obviously my guests did not get the memo about the attire for my birthday.

One more piece !

Apparently I was the soloist for the Happy Birthday song
$5 that I was the one who spilled my orange soda in the middle of the table.

I had tuba lungs at a young age - look at me blow that flag straight.
