Snow Plow

Nothing like spending the day on the slopes.  The adrenaline rush of bombing down the hill, the spectacular views from the top of the mountain, the awkward conversations with strangers on the chairlift and the relief of taking my feet out of the ski boots at the end of the day.... I love it all.....

Here are some photos taken on the slopes over the years....

  1. I went skiing in Italy in March of 1987. On a trip to Milan, I was convinced by two elderly people on the airplane that if one could ski in New England, you can ski in the Alps. Not true. The Thornton rep, Silvio Essengrini and his family were going to Monte Rosa (over 4000 meters high)for the weekend so I went along. Beside the thin air and rented skis in those days the chair lift went bottom to top, but the rest of the time you were lifted on Poma Lifts (on your feet all day). The fellow in the picture nearly had to carry me off the hill because we skied until 5PM. On return, the board raised the Key Man insurance on me.
